Carmei Gat is a residential neighbourhood, and when I checked in October 2026 I couldn't find a hotel in Kiryat Gat on any official or hotel-run website. Here is how to plan a stay.
Where in Carmei Gat or Kiryat Gat
- Central Carmei Gat (02), around Big Carmei Gat (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה) on Lachish Blvd: shops, Rami Levy and cafés downstairs, and the Sportek (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה) a few minutes away.
- The north (03): next to the Carmei Gat bus terminal, where city lines 1, 3, 4 and 5 leave for the railway station (Open Bus Stride (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)).
- Near Carmei Zion and Avnei HaChoshen: handy for Shabbat. Carmei Zion is at 74 Sderot Avnei HaChoshen (Carmei Zion (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)) and the Makolet park nearby is where English-speaking families meet on Shabbat afternoons (community site (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)).
- Older Kiryat Gat: closer to the railway station, the central bus station and the Wednesday market (community site (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)).
Short-term rentals
The 'Where to stay' page links to Airbnb and Booking.com searches for each part of Carmei Gat. Rentals there are flats in new apartment buildings run by private hosts, so check the exact address, parking and whether there is a mamad (safe room). I don't list individual hosts.
Nearest hotels
There are hotels in the nearby cities. Ashkelon is about 22 km west of Carmei Gat (straight line), and Nefesh B'Nefesh puts Kiryat Gat about 43 km from Be'er Sheva and 56 km from Tel Aviv (NBN (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)). From Kiryat Gat station, trains run north to Tel Aviv and south to Be'er Sheva, 27 each way on an ordinary Sunday (Open Bus Stride (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)), but not on Saturdays (Wikipedia (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)).
Camping
KKL-JNF's HaMalachim-Shahariya forest, about 4 km east of Kiryat Gat, has an overnight camping site with no electricity. Groups must bring their own toilets, water and rubbish bins, and overnight stays need to be arranged with KKL-JNF in advance (KKL-JNF (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)).
Know a guesthouse or kibbutz guest room near Carmei Gat with its own website? Tell me and I'll check it.
